AT&T Performing Arts Center

The Grand Opening of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in October 2009 marked the long-anticipated completion of the Dallas Arts District, an idea first conceived more than 30 years ago.

Today, the Center encompasses 10 acres within the downtown Dallas Arts District. The Center includes the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, Annette Strauss Square and Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park, as well as Lexus Red and Silver underground parking areas.Nestled in among world-class museums, the AT&T Performing Art Center is an architectural gem. The visually interesting façade and endlessly moveable interior of the Wyly Theatre encourage artists to have some fun, while the ruby-red prow of the Winspear Opera House juts toward the highway, beckoning passersby to enter and experience something amazing.

Ananda Lila

Ananda Lila has been involved in the Bhakti Movement for over ten years. Raised in Midwest America, from an early age she yearned for a spiritual path. In her adolescence, she set off on a spiritual quest that led her across North America and South America. Having been on a plant-based diet for over fifteen years, her search ended when she found an Ahimsa community of Guadiya Vaishnavas in Dallas, Texas. She says, "Living in a community centered around authentic yoga practices and a vibrant Vaishnava temple has supported my path and purpose in life." Feeling passionate about living consciously as a mother, she developed 'Mata and Me', a fair-trade Vedic-inspired clothing brand designed for families.

Ananda, whose name means bliss, strives to bring spiritual bliss to others by performing kirtan, teaching the wisdom and practice of both Bhakti yoga and Hatha yoga, and coaching mantra meditation workshops. "Let us spread Bhakti together!" says Ananda Lila.

Our community discusses themes from the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient text in which the protagonist goes into a very deep inquiry about the soul, the meaning of life, and our position and duty in this life. On occasion, we are fortunate enough to have guest speakers who are life-long scholars and practitioners of the Bhakti Yoga tradition. We welcome them to come out and engage our curiosity about the spiritual topics we have been discussing and hear from them about their own experiences regarding these topics.

Mantras

Mantra Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, it becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur). If we are able to shift our perspective, we can change our relationship to the issue that may be preventing us from experiencing our optimal homeostasis. Sound not only helps with inducing relaxation, but also has a way of moving through areas of blockage. These energetic blockage areas can be located in our physical bodies, our subtle bodies, or both. The physical body is where we experience localized pain and discomfort.

Our "subtle body" is our energetic body. This body is where our life force energy exists, commonly referred to as Qi, Chi or prana.

In Chinese medicine, meridian points are used to pinpoint areas that have restricted energetic flow to our physical and subtle bodies. The body is known to have thousands of these meridian lines that are mapped out through the body, in the same way we've mapped out the latitude and longitude of the earth. The subtle body holds imbalances and traumas that can eventually manifest in our physical bodies, which is why it's important to look at healing and balance not only from a physical perspective, but as a complete holistic experience that includes mind, body and spirit.

The sounds and mantra chanting on our radio have the ability to positively affect our whole being and our surroundings. Using sound as therapy can provide results for a variety of issues including:

  • Sleep disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress management
  • PTSD
  • Depression
  • Pain management
  • Improve our relationships Create better Feng Shui
  • Pacify Vaastu Purush
  • Invite the directional lords as per Vaastu Shastra Appease the Navagraha deities
  • Heal emotional issues
  • Raise consciousness levels to higher Kundalini chakras

We invite you to be a subscriber and tune into these highest frequencies in your homes and offices. We invite you to take the first step to improving your life and relations.
